Technische Universitaet Darmstadt
TU Darmstadt is one of Germany’s major Universities with a focus on technical and engineering sciences. Founded in 1877, it was the first university worldwide to establish an Electrical Engineering Department.
Currently, the university has more than 25,000 students and almost 3,000 faculty and research personnel. It hosts twelve large-scale collaborative research centers funded by DFG, the German national foundation for science, and participates in numerous international research efforts.
Researchers at TU Darmstadt have long been developing innovative computer architectures and programming tools. They contribute this expertise to the RISC-V ecosystem in a number of projects. Examples include work on the RISC-V vector extension, specifically from a compiler perspective, a number of efforts on using RISC-V for improved IT security, and participation in Scale4Edge, one of the largest recent research projects in Germany on Future Specialized Processors and Development Platforms (ZuSE).
