RISC-V alliance to develop new technologies including autopilot. RISC-V is based on an open source instruction set architecture based on established Reduced Instruction Set (RISC) principles. The project began in California at Berkeley in 2010, but many contributors are volunteers and industry workers outside the university. Compared to most instruction sets, the RISC-V instruction set can be freely used for any purpose, allowing anyone to design, manufacture and sell RISC-V chips and software.
