The Benchmark Company Session: RISC‐V Positioned to Drive Processor Industry Innovation Across SoC/MCU Development Roadmaps

This week Gary Mobley at The Benchmark Company hosted an exclusive session with Rick O’Connor, executive director of the non-profit RISC‐V Foundation, to provide investors and the embedded community with an overview of the open, free RISC-V architecture and the incredible growth of the RISC-V ecosystem.
Rick explained the industry need for a free and open source instruction set architecture (ISA) that everyone can use for everything. What sets RISC-V apart is its simplicity, clean-slate design, modularity, extensibility and stability. Counting more than 100 organizations, individuals, academics and universities as members, RISC-V has a truly global footprint. During the talk, Rick highlighted exciting RISC-V use cases from Nvidia and Western Digital.
