GreenWaves Technologies, a fabless semiconductor startup, has unveiled its GAP8 IoT application processor. The company also announced that its GAP8 Software Development Kit is now available for order.
The GAP8 IoT application processor, based on the RISC-V open source processor architecture, facilitates the cost-efficient development, deployment, as well as autonomous operation of intelligent sensing devices that record, examine, categorize, and work on the amalgamation of data sources like sounds, vibrations, or images. With an integrated 8-core computational cluster brought together with a convolution hardware accelerator, GAP8 is optimized to run a wide range of image and audio algorithms with high energy efficiency, the company added.
