FOSSCOMM (Free and Open Source Software Communities Meeting) is the pan-Hellenic conference of free software and open source software communities . The conference covers a variety of topics from technical issues and workshops to legal and policy issues related to free / open software etc. It has been held every year since 2008 and has been organized in 6 different cities. The event is organized by volunteers and is funded through sponsorships and donations.
This year, the conference will be held in Heraklion, Crete, hosted on the diving camp just outside the city. The organizing team consists of the Radio Station of the University of Crete (RA.STA.PAN.K 96.7), the Postgraduate Association of the Computer Science Department and the Laback Hackerspace.
The organization of the conference will include speeches and workshops, including a security module and a Cryptoparty where we will learn about privacy and encryption technologies. It will also have modules for Mobile & IoT (Internet Of Things), Cloud & DevOps, and neural networks as well as for open RISC-V architecture.
