The European Commission has announced a recent ambitious project to create its own, European supercomputer for future HPC platforms in data centers, scientific computing, transport and other sectors.
The Open Architecture RISC-V was chosen as the basis for the supercomputer, and the processor and platform developed with the European Processor Initiative (EPI) consortium with 26 participants – companies and research organizations, Atos, CEA, Barcelona Supercomputing Center, ETH Zürich, BMW and others.
