Phoenix, AZ – May 29, 2019 – Semico Research and Consulting and the RISC-V Foundation, a non-profit corporation controlled by its members to drive the adoption and implementation of the free and open RISC-V instruction set architecture (ISA), recently announced an agreement for Semico to author a market research report on the current and future potential of the RISC-V architecture. Scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2019, the comprehensive report will be based on original research, creating reliable and actionable third-party data. “Third-party research focused on RISC-V will help guide the market development efforts of our member companies, and provide an impartial forecast of RISC-V’s future growth and adoption to prospective users of the architecture,” said Calista Redmond, CEO of the RISC-V Foundation. “Semico is excited to take on this specific project because it is an excellent fit with our current research efforts in the SoC, ASIC, and IP markets. - The report itself will cover 25 specific applications under the main headings of computer, communications, consumer, and industrial
- Semico’s RISC-V research report will be available for purchase by RISC-V Foundation members and the general public
- The research data, provided in an accompanying spreadsheet, will include a 5-year forecast for shipments of CPU cores and chips, plus design starts by geometry for each of the 25 applications
- RISC-V Foundation member companies will be extended a discounted purchase price on the sale of the report
