Community Growth in India through Vegathon Events | RISC-V International

Thirty hours! That’s how long some of the recent VEGA Processors hackathons, VEGATHON, have lasted. At a recent hackathon local RISC-V enthusiasts used the RISC-V-based VEGA microcontroller-based ARIES development board to create a new product or application that served one of the following domains: public health, agriculture, environment and sustainability, and mobility solutions.

Registered teams consisted of no more than four people and were given one ARIES development board. Teams delivered creative new applications utilizing the high-performance RISC-V-base VEGA processors. VEGA Microprocessors are a portfolio of 32-bit/64-bit Single/Multi-core Superscalar high performance Indigenous Processors developed by C-DAC.

If you are interested in participating in a Vegathon, please consider attending the next event on June 23-25. GCON-VEGATHON is a hardware hackathon event organized by IEEE India Council in collaboration with C-DAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing) and IIT Guwahati under IEEE Guwhati Sub-section, as a part of IEEE-GCON 2023. This event will enable students and technology enthusiasts to build applications using the indigenously developed VEGA Microprocessor based ARIES development boards. GCON-VEGATHON is a two-month long event where participants should develop a product which will be showcased in the IEEE-GCON 2023 conference. Winners will be announced in GCON 2023.
