RISC-V International has appointed Andrea Gallo as CEO, effective immediately. Previously vice president of Technology at the organization, Gallo brings extensive experience in open ecosystems and leadership from his roles at Linaro and STMicroelectronics. His focus will include accelerating RISC-V adoption, enhancing developer experience, and expanding the organization’s global membership. He aims to improve access to technical and educational resources, launch a RISC-V certification program, and strengthen the ecosystem through collaboration with the RISC-V Software Ecosystem (RISE) project.
“I look forward to stepping into the CEO role to build on the technical momentum of RISC-V International and further accelerate the adoption of RISC-V across markets worldwide,” Gallo said. “One of my top priorities is improving the developer experience so companies can innovate faster and spend more time on differentiation. Additionally, I see a lot of opportunities to expand RISC-V International’s membership base across different verticals and geographies.” Gallo replaces interim CEO Todd Moore, who will continue supporting the organization via the Linux Foundation. The board cited Gallo’s technical knowledge and proven ability to drive collaboration as key to his selection. He will deliver a keynote at this week’s RISC-V Summit Europe in Paris, underscoring his role in shaping the ISA’s next phase.
