Introducing the Newly Elected RISC-V Board of Directors Officers and Members

The RISC-V International Board of Directors and its officers are pivotal in guiding and leading the expansive RISC-V community. As members continue to make significant innovations and investments in RISC-V, the Board has welcomed new members whose expertise aligns with these evolving developments. The RISC-V Board of Directors is composed of seasoned professionals, technologists, and industry titans collectively committed to advancing RISC-V’s success for all stakeholders worldwide. Together, these innovators leverage their expertise in technology adoption, commercialization, and collaboration to benefit the entire community. 

Please join us in congratulating the newly elected RISC-V International Board of Director Officers: 

  • Chair: Lu Dai, Sr. Director, Technical Standards, Qualcomm
  • Vice Chair: Stefan Wallentowitz, Professor, Munich University of Applied Sciences
  • Treasurer: Philipp Tomsich, Chief Technologist & Founder, VRULL GmbH
  • Secretary: Mark Hayter, Chief Strategy Officer & Co-Founder, Rivos Inc.

In his second year as Chairman, Lu Dai leverages his extensive experience with standards bodies and his role as a representative of a major end-user corporation to provide valuable insights to both RISC-V and the community.

Joining him is Vice Chair, Stefan Wallentowitz. Active in various RISC-V projects over the past six years, Stefan has contributed to the debug task group and recently assumed the role of chair for the RISC-V SIG “Academia & Education.”

Treasurer Philipp Tomsich brings significant RISC-V expertise to his role, serving as Vice Chair of the Technical Steering Committee and Chair of the Applications and Tools Horizontal Committee. His work in guiding software ecosystem outreach, standardization, and global alignment strengthens RISC-V’s impact on software innovation.

Secretary Mark Hayter joins us from Rivos Inc. With a background in systems architecture and hardware development, he previously led engineering teams at Google’s Chrome OS Hardware division and held key roles at P.A. Semi, Broadcom, and SiByte.
