Microchip PolarFire SoC FPGA

Organization: Microchip

The PolarFire® SoC FPGA family delivers a combination of low power consumption, thermal efficiency and defense-grade security for smart, connected systems. It is the first System-on-Chip (SoC) FPGA with a deterministic, coherent RISC-V CPU cluster and a deterministic L2 memory subsystem for creating Linux® and real-time applications. PolarFire SoC FPGAs span from 25K to 460K Logic Elements (LEs) and feature 12.7 Gbps transceivers. Built on the award-winning, mid-range, low-power PolarFire FPGA architecture, PolarFire SoC delivers up to 50% lower power than comparable FPGAs. At 1.3W, PolarFire SoC FPGAs deliver 6,500 CoreMarks while competing SoC FPGAs deliver 0 CoreMarks. PolarFire SoC FPGAs consume 55% lower power at 8,000 CoreMarks. Features PolarFire SoC FPGA (MPFS250T-FCVG484EES), SiFive E51 Monitor core (1 x RV64IMAC), SiFive U54 Application cores (4 x RV64GC), Secure boot, 2 GB LPDDR4 x 32, 1 Gb SPI flash, 8 GB eMMC flash & SD card slot (multiplexed).

Beagleboard - BeagleV®-Fire

BeagleV®-Fire is a revolutionary single-board computer (SBC) powered by the Microchip’s PolarFire® MPFS025T 5x core RISC-V System on Chip (SoC) with FPGA fabric. BeagleV®-Fire opens up new horizons for developers, tinkerers, and the open-source community to explore the vast potential of RISC-V architecture and FPGA technology. It has the same P8 & P9 cape header pins as BeagleBone Black allowing you to stack your favorite BeagleBone cape on top to expand it’s capability. Built around the powerful and energy-efficient RISC-V instruction set architecture (ISA) along with its versatile FPGA fabric, BeagleV®-Fire SBC offers unparalleled opportunities for developers, hobbyists, and researchers to explore and experiment with RISC-V technology.
