We are seeking an experienced CPU Performance benchmarking and analysis engineer to work with CPU architects, micro-architects, software engineers, and RTL designers to optimize high-performance CPU cores and sub-systems.

You will:

Lead the porting of industry standard or internal benchmarks to systems including bare metal and Linux based platforms

Explore performance improvements and work with architects, micro-architects, and software engineers to optimize performance

Provide performance verification support and help verify that the RTL design meets the performance goals

Ideally, you’ll have:
Deep understanding of CPU Architecture
Understanding of in-order/out-of-order pipelines
Understanding and experience with performance simulators
Strong coding (C, C++) and scripting (csh, bsh, Python/Perl) skills
Good understanding of industry-standard benchmarks like SPEC (06, 17), Coremark, CoreMark-Pro
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree with 7+ years of experience in CPU benchmarking and analysis

A plus if you have:
Knowledge/experience with RISC-V, ARM, and/or MIPS architectures
Knowledge/experience with CPU features that affect performance such as branch prediction, prefetching, and other techniques as well as internal performance counters
Prior experience with GNU, LLVM toolchains including flags for optimization
Deep understanding of run environment and internals of benchmarks such as Dhrystone, CoreMark, CoreMark-Pro, SPEC (06, 17), LMBench, Stream, Memcpy
