Board of Directors Annual Awards
The Board of Directors nominate and vote on the strongest RISC-V technical contributors for the year and award the top candidates, in the hardware and software categories, with the RISC-V Board of Directors Leadership Awards. The runner-up candidates are given the RISC-V Board of Directors Contributor Awards.
Under the Hardware/Software categories:
- A maximum of 1 Board of Directors Leadership Award shall be awarded each year *
- A maximum of 1 Board of Directors Contributor Award shall be awarded each year, in each region (Americas, Europe, Asia) *

Community Annual Awards
The RISC-V Community (Marketing Committee, Ambassadors, Academic SIG and other non-technical groups) nominate candidates they feel have done great things for the community. The Community then votes for the RISC-V Community Leadership Award (1 person) who will be recognized at the RISC-V Summit (of their choice). If there is a close set of runner-ups, those with most votes will be awarded with RISC-V Community Contributor awards (1-2 maximum/year *).

RISC-V Service Award
This award is for notable personal dedication to RISC-V success. Recipients may be nominated by RISC-V leadership (Board of Directors, TSC Members or RISC-V Staff). The Board of Directors votes to approve and the award is delivered at a major annual Summit. A maximum of 2 Service Awards shall be distributed in any given year.

RISC-V Technical Spot Recognition
Technical contribution not directly related to ratification, awarded at the time of contribution, not for organizing or progress – example update GCC optimizer to take advantage of an extension. Nominations are submitted via form by any TSC Member. Reviews will be held and recipients awarded quarterly. The number of awards are unlimited. Initiated in 2022, awards are decided by the RISC-V Technical Steering Committee.

Thank you awards for non-technical contributions. Includes academic, marketing, etc. Initiated in 2022, nominations may be submitted via form, and approved is provided by the CEO of RISC-V International.
