Cobham Gaisler (formerly Aeroflex Gaisler and more formerly Gaisler Research) becomes a gold member of the RISC-V Foundation and announces that it is in full swing to construct a 64-bit RISC-V core (RV64GC).
Cobham Gaisler’s own CPU family Leon has been powering hundreds of spacecrafts for almost 20 years.
They are also used in ground applications in demanding environments – which will Cobham’s RISC-V cores will be used for. They will be fault tolerant and there will be certified versions.
