The CEO of SiFive says the that the first servers based on the open-source ISA RISC-V will arrive in five years. The new open instruction set architecture has been gaining strength and fame lately.
The ISA of the RISC type is quite well adapted to the new terms and is modular meaning it can add or remove instruction modules as appropriate. This way you can optimize the chips and avoid something similar to the x86 with backward compatibility. That they are not only CISC instructions, but they already add more than 1300 instructions, many of which are no longer used or do not make sense for modern software.
